Spruce Up the Sturgeon, May 3, 2009
The eleventh annual Spruce Up the Sturgeon event occurred on Sunday May 4, 2009.
BLESS members Stuart and Rosalind Loomis once again put their experience and knowledge to work on the committee that organized the river bank cleanup. Those who came out to help clean up the river were treated to ice cream from Dairy Queen and coffee and treats courtesy of Tim Hortons thanks to the efforts of Stuart and Rosalind in coordinating sponsorship by local businesses.
St. Albert Centre were also sponsors for the second year in a row in helping to advertise the event and also put up a barbecue tent behind the mall to feed volunteers.
This year, BLESS member Annette Cake recruited 12 new BLESS members from the many volunteers who came out to help keep our river looking its best.
