Spruce Up the Sturgeon, May 4, 2008
The tenth annual Spruce Up the Sturgeon event occurred on Sunday May 4, 2008.
BLESS members Stuart and Rosalind Loomis once again put their experience and knowledge to work on the committee that organized the river bank cleanup. Those who came out to help clean up the river were treated to ice cream from Dairy Queen and coffee and treats courtesy of Tim Hortons thanks to the efforts of Stuart and Rosalind in coordinating sponsorship by local businesses.
St. Albert Centre also came on board as sponsors in 2008. The mall contributed substantial resources to help advertise the event and also set up a food tent behind the mall to feed vounteers.
Thanks to all who came out and helped keep our river looking its best.
